There are strict rules for carrying vegetables in your luggage.
Plants, fruits, vegetables, and plant products must meet certain requirements to be shipped or carried in passenger luggage to continental Europe (including Metropolitan France).
Be sure to check the customs rules in the country of your destination before your departure.
From Reunion Island:
In December 2019, the EU updated its regulations on the transportation of plant products in luggage:
- Mangoes, peppers, lemons, limes, and other citrus fruits are forbidden in all luggage (cabin or hold).
- Litchis, passion fruit, and all other plant products are authorized, albeit in quantities up to 5 kg. If you wish to bring back more than 5 kg, you’ll have to complete a declaration form.
- There are no restrictions on pineapples, coconuts, and bananas.
