If your flight is full or nearly full on the day of departure, airport staff may offer to check your carry-on bag free of charge, provided it meets the authorized size and weight requirements:
Maximum dimensions: 55 x 35 x 25 cm
Maximum weight: 12 kg (including your personal item)
In this case, you will only be able to bring one small personal item into the cabin, such as a handbag or backpack (maximum size: 40 x 30 x 20 cm).

This option is not guaranteed. It depends on your flight’s load factor and can only be offered at the airport during check-in.
On a round-trip, it may be offered on your outbound flight but not necessarily on your return—it all depends on the day’s conditions 😉
